Mission statement for Rampage music magazine

Mission statement
Rampage is a brand new and fresh music magazine that has been written to celebrate heavy metal music and everyone who enjoys heavy metal, and it unites all the sub-genres of heavy metal into one magazine. The name ‘Rampage’ suggests a magazine that celebrates ‘hardcore’ music as it is quite a violent name, and has feeling to it and it is quite an aggressive name, and it fits in well with the genre it focuses on. It’s also a quick and easy name to remember that is unlike any other music magazine, and it there to stand out, and it is there to celebrate how heavy metal is becoming more popular in a world that favours more to an ‘RnB’ music style.
Rampage will be sold on a weekly basis, this is so fans can always be up to date with the latest band news, they can pre order albums and they can be the first to know about gigs and when they can purchase tickets to go to gigs, as well as this, it is sold on a weekly basis to promote new bands, and give them a chance in the music industry, a monthly issue would now allow so much promotion in the magazine, thus making Rampage being distributed on a weekly basis a benefit for everyone who would be reading it. Also, the magazines main competition will be the magazine 'Kerrang!' which is also sold weekly, as a new magazine 'Rampage' will have to keep up with Kerrang! and match what they are doing, and if not then do better! Equally, metal fans will be expecting an every week magazine because of Kerrang! So Rampage has to fulfill the needs of the target audience. The magazine will be on sale in supermarkets, music stores (HMV for example...), Newsagents and there will be the option to download it online as this may be more beneficial for some people. The reason for using a wide range of stores for selling my magazine in is because a wider range of people can buy it, for example is someone didn’t live near a super market, a newsagents would be more beneficial for them, and since my target audience most likely won’t have a car, it means they cannot travel so the magazine must be in easy access (this is if they do not have a subscription to the magazine.) If they do have a subscription, then the magazine will be delivered to their door a day early than it will be sold in shops, this is so more people subscribe and ensures more money will be made.
As the magazine is being sold weekly to a target audience who are not made of money, Rampage will be on sale for an amazing price of £2.10. This cheap price ensures that many people can easily buy it, and means it is cheaper than many other music magazines, so it would beat the competition and people would buy Rampage instead.
Usually, the listeners of heavy metal music are very opinionated and critical; therefore content in the magazine must reach high standards and ensure a fun read for the reader and it must be informative and reach their standards of what they want to read. The readers will love to read band interviews and band profiles, they want to hear stories from their favourite bands and Rampage ensures to deliver this. As the readership will be mostly males trying to reach it in the music industry, Rampage also ensures it will give advice on how to make it big, do gig reviews of small bands and help promote bands. The magazine will succeed in ensuring that readers whom are musicians are completely satisfied with what they read and they will be more confident in the music industry. The magazine will also feature tips for people who play instruments and sing, to aid them in becoming the best they can be, and to give them that push, especially if they are thinking of giving up, it will give them inspiration and determination to be successful and follow their dreams.
Rampage, will feature posters every issue of bands who hold the main story articles in the magazine, this will draw in fans of that band and even prompt them in buying the magazine, as well as this it also features inspiration, tips and advice. This is something that will satisfy the readership of the magazine extremely well and make them satisfied with the magazine, in a way they will become a fan of Rampage and it will act as a information source to them, and something to read to escape the problems with life, and help make dreams a reality.
Also in promoting smaller bands, the magazine will offer a certain amount of free MP3 downloads on their website in aid in supporting and getting new bands music out there, this will generate new fans as people love free downloads, and if they like what they hear the small bands will soon turn into big bands, thanks to the help of Rampage magazine. Another amazing offer that the magazine will offer is free gig tickets, and not just ordinary gig tickets, it will offer the chance to get a behind the stage ticket with their favourite band, so they can meet the artists, hang out with them and get the best place to watch them perform. A competition like this will attract thousands of fans, and may even be a reason they started buying the magazine in the first place.
Rampage will focus on many heavy metal bands that have gone through rough times, especially if one of the members was bullied as a child, it will offer advice and a range of options, fans listen best when their role model is speaking and it may give them a confidence boost they need.
Rampage will not just specialize on one type of heavy metal, it will feature news all the way from old school thrash metal (such as Metallica, iron maiden etc...)  All the way through to new, modern post hardcore and death metal (such as Asking Alexandria, Bring Me The Horizon etc...) And it will feature a lot of stories about which new metal bands are ‘hot on the scene’ and the ones to check out, this could be shown in a ‘band of the week section’.
As well as celebrating heavy metal music and new bands, Rampage will give readers confidence in life through their interviews, the things that they ask bands can really help people in their own lives, and it allows people to express their love for heavy metal music a lot more passionately and confidently, and make them more confident in expressing who they are, and will help them embrace their love for wanting to make music.
Readers of Rampage will find the magazine unique in a way they cannot describe, they will find it fun but serious at the same time, the magazine does not aim to have a serious effect, but it aims to deliver a message to their readers it aims to be very informative and generally very fun to read. Readers will be able to relate to the magazine like no other, and even though the magazine is very honest about its thoughts and opinions, it will reflect that in their readers, aiding them to be more confident and more willing to voice their opinion on things. It will be a magazine that the readers will love to read, and they will ensure that they buy it every week.
